MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—Analysts have been saying for some time that digital wallets will need to offer consumers incentives to get them tapping and paying in larger numbers.
Google appears to have taken that advice by offering attractive incentives for Google Pay purchases on the Play Store. Recently Google Pay began incentivizing people to use the digital wallet in the Play Store by offering $10 to both the referrer and the referred for a first-time use.
The move has paid off with the Google Pay app just topping 100 million downloads on the Play Store, Android Police reported.
