SACRAMENTO, Calif.–Golden 1 Credit Union, which holds naming rights to the arena here that’s home to the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, is offering its suite to local nonprofit groups.
Golden 1 announced the suite will be available to nonprofits for selected Kings games and other arena events. The offer includes tickets to the events and refreshments. It is accepting applications online at https://www.golden1.com/communitysuite/default
“We want to share Golden 1 Center with our nonprofit partners in recognition of the incredible work they do for the community and on behalf of our membership,” said Erica Taylor, the credit union’s vice president for communications and community relations, in a statement to the Sacramento Bee.
The Bee reported that Golden 1’s offer is comparable to the city of Sacramento’s decision to making the city-owned suite at the new arena available to nonprofits and other community groups.
Golden 1 bought the naming rights to the month-old arena for a reported $6 million a year. The credit union controls one of the 34 suites that ring the building.
