SPOKANE, Wash.–Global Credit Union here has launched a “Cultural Passport” campaign as a means of encouraging the community to engage and invest in local culture.
Participants who attend eight cultural events between May 29 and Oct. 10, 2015 can submit their entries online, and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $1,000.
“Global supports local, rewarding and philanthropic programs in our community,” said Global Credit Union President and CEO Jack Fallis in a statement. “We are guided by our Citizen Philosophy which encourages people to be engaged, integrated and transformative in their community. It is through this interaction and collaboration of people and culture that we all contribute to a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
Cultural events include:
- Plays
- Dance recitals
- Gallery openings
- Poetry readings
- Live music performances
“With the Cultural Passport, we wanted to show people how they were already participating in their community, that culture isn’t an elitist concept,” said Abigail Franklin, Global’s VP marketing and strategy, in a statement. “The idea was to help people seek out ways to enrich and participate in their community through attending Global Citizen events or anything else in their community that piqued their interest. This reinforces our Citizen Philosophy of fostering community awareness and cultural growth.”
As part of this commitment to the culture of its communities, Global sponsors a number of events, including concerts and street fairs.
