Glatco Credit Union’s Bowker Retiring; Successor Named

YORK, Penn.–William J. “Bill” Bowker, president of Glatco Credit Union has announced his retirement effective July 1, although he will remain on as treasurer.

The credit union has named a successor.

A 43-year veteran of credit unions, Bowker was the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award for Credit Union Professional of the Year from the CrossState Credit Union Association. Since joining the CU in 1987, Bowker has seen growth to $43 million in assets from $3 million.

In addition to his work at Glatco Credit Union, Bowker has also served as president of the York Credit Union Chapter, and also served on the league’s regulatory review committee, the Credit Union Ambassador Contest Committee, and continued support of advocacy efforts.

“Bill was part of the first grassroots walk on the Mall in Washington, D.C. Financial literacy has been his passion and was the catalyst for his establishing an in-school branch at Spring Grove School District,” noted the CrossState Credit Union Association. “In addition to his credit union work Bill volunteers for numerous community groups such as the Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce and his church. 

Succeeding Bowker as CEO is Ron Ferrance, who has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry, where he began as a teller and most recently served as chief lending officer of Cross Valley FCU.
