HENDERSON, Nev.–Credit unions need to get refocused, financially fit and must also adapt—the other option is to die, according to one person.
In an interview as part of the Underground Chats hosted by Mitchell Stankovic, Stephen Bohanon, founder and chief strategy and sales officer with Alkemi, was blunt in his assessment of what credit unions need to do.
“The pandemic brought on new realities around the need for digital,” Bohanon told Susan Mitchell, CEO of Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates and Founder of the Underground, who led the interview. “If organizations are hoping things go back to how it was, they are in for a world of hurt. They need to adapt or die.”
During the discussion Bohannon recommended some of the ways to put ideas into action and to adapt post-pandemic include:
- Find the Balance. “You cannot live your mission if you don’t exist. Balance your business needs with your goodwill.”
- Adapt or Die. “Don’t lose your momentum from 2020. Keep innovating. Keep adapting.”

Mitchell Stankovic also reminded it will host its next “Underground Collision: We Are the World,” on July 13. To register, go here.
