ANN ARBOR, Mich.–As it prepares to mark its fifth year, CU Lunch Local is reporting it has expanded across several states.
The initiative, held in conjunction with International Credit Union Week, seeks to support local businesses with what it calls “an industry wide cash mob.” The official CU Lunch Local day is Oct. 18.
“We know that every dollar spent makes a difference when it goes to a local business, from buying a morning cup of coffee, ordering lunch in, or organizing a group of people to support a local business,” said CU Lunch Local in a statement.
CU Lunch Local was first created in 2012 by Michigan Business Connection, a member business lending CUSO, which continues to sponsor the effort.
