Get Ready For Back-To-School Time With Foundation’s Twitter Chat

MADISON Wis.– With back-to-school time across the country, the National Credit Union Foundation is hosting a Twitter chat on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. (CT) to discuss how credit unions positively impact K-12 schools in their area.

“Credit unions across the country are busy right now prepping multiple outreach activities for the upcoming school year,” said Christopher Morris, Foundation director of communications, in a statement. “Whether it be backpack drives, managing an in-school branch, or preparing financial education activities, credit unions do a lot to benefit their area schools. The end result is improved youth financial literacy and well-being, which is why the Foundation is excited to host this forum for idea sharing around credit unions’ school activities.”

Credit unions and their staff are encouraged to share best practices and examples of successful events via the chat. Educators Credit Union, located in Mount Pleasant, Wis., will be featured in the Twitter chat as a special guest.

The Twitter chat is a live streaming conversation, free and open to anyone with a Twitter account. For this Twitter chat, the hashtag will be #foundationchat. Twitter users can either type #foundationchat into the Twitter search box or utilize other tools such as Tweet Chat to follow the conversation.

Questions will be tweeted using a Q1, Q2, etc. format, which can be replied to with a corresponding A1, A2, etc. format. All questions and answers should contain the #foundationchat hashtag.
