Gerber FCU Expanding To A Community Charter

FREMONT, Mich.–Gerber Federal Credit Union said it has received regulatory approval from NCUA to expand its field of membership to a community charter. 

The credit union, which was founded to serve Gerber Products’ employees in 1950, has now opened its FOM to individuals and businesses who live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Newaygo County, Migh., or the following portions of Muskegon County, Mich.: Cedar Creek Township; Moorland Township; Casnovia Township; Holton Township; or the following portions of Oceana County, Mich.: Newfield Township; or Greenwood Township. 

“This update will bring more opportunity to Newaygo County and the surrounding townships,” said President/CEO John Buckley. “It is Gerber FCU’s mission to serve the area through our exceptional products and services. Expanding our field of membership will allow us to offer more varied services to our existing membership, as well as the new membership.”

The $136-million GFCU has 13,200 members.
