GTE Financial Turns To ‘Fun and Trendy’ Tech, Including Vlogs

TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union said it is using a number of what it called “fun and trendy” technology campaigns to remain engaged with members, especially Millennials.

Those campaigns include Snapchat live stories, a monthly video blog (vlog), and even mannequin challenges.

The vlog is called GTE Open Mic, and it shares what GTE Financial has called its “most important highlights – all focused on its members.” The short vlogs air a few times a month, typically lasting less than a minute, and feature everyone from the CEO to special guests in various departments, and even its community financial centers, the credit union said.

Topics include current promotions like cash and gift card giveaways, virtual banking and home buying tips, and more. “The videos allow members to get to know GTE personally, making their banking experience more of a relationship,” the credit union said.
