WASHINGTON–The Filene Research Institute has announced a new Center of Excellence.
Filene, which regularly retires its various Centers as it names new ones, said it has created the Center for the Next Generation of Membership Growth.
In introducing the new Center, which is being sponsored by Christian Financial Credit Union in Michigan, Filene CEO Mark Meyer drew a comparison to the Oscar-winning movie “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” saying that is the pace of change coming at credit union leaders at the same time they need to understand a new generation of members.
According to Filene, the goal of the Center is to expand credit unions’ capabilities to develop and implement strategies that will prepare and advance the next generation of member growth.
Noting the pressures credit unions face, Meyer wryly observed that “No CEO is happy with their CFO right now,” a development occurring at the same time “members have changed how they want to do business with you. And then there is this other thing that has really picked up speed, what I will say are well intentioned but ill-timed regulatory challenges.”
Meyer said the new Center is aimed at fulfilling Filene’s mission, which is to unlock value, speed time to insights and speed time to action.
