MOSCOW, Idaho— The Idaho State Board of Education has given its approval to breaking ground on a new $46-million basketball arena at the University of Idaho that will be named for a credit union. The 4,200-seat facility will be called the Idaho Central Credit Union Arena after the credit union purchased the naming rights.
Groundbreaking is expected this spring and the arena should be completed in 2021. University of Idaho basketball games are currently played in the Kibbie Dome.
As CUToday.info earlier reported here, Idaho Central has paid a lump sum of $10-million for 35 years of title sponsorship.
Chubbuck, Idaho-based Idaho Central has $4.3-billion in assets and approximately 341,000 members.
