Four Michigan Credit Unions Announce Merger Plans

FERNDALE, Mich.—The $860-million Credit Union ONE said it will absorb the $93-million Good Shepherd Credit Union via merger, pending a membership vote of GSCU scheduled for March 25. If approved, the merger would be effective June 30, 2015.

Lincoln Park, Mich.-based GSCU was formed in 1957 and has approximately 8,300 members and two branches in Lincoln Park and Woodhaven Michigan.  GSCU’s field of membership includes individuals who live, work, worship, or are educated in Wayne and Monroe Counties.  Credit Union ONE was organized in 1938 and has approximately 120,000 members.

Also in Michigan, the $8.3-million Owosso Columbus Credit Union said it will merge with the $414-million Team One Credit Union in Saginaw. OCCU has 1,101 members, while Team One has 38,500 members.
