Fort Worth Chapter CUs Raising Funds For Law Enforcement

PLANO, Texas—As Baton Rouge, La., today deals with the aftermath of police shootings, the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions has joined with the Tarrant County Law Enforcement Association on a fundraising event to benefit the Dallas Police Association’s Assist the Officers Foundation following the shooting of five police officers here.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 23, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rock Woodfire Kitchen in Arlington, Texas. Tents will be set up in the restaurant parking lot and several community organizations have been invited to attend. The restaurant will contribute 25% of its proceeds from the event to the cause. Additional funds will be raised through the sale of window decals and donated T-shirts. The Chapter said it is currently collecting donations to purchase the decals, which will be sold the day of the event.

The fundraising endeavor is part of the Chapter's monthly service campaign to do good things for the local community and focuses on one of the credit union movement's seven cooperative principles, concern for the community. Credit union staff and members, as well as the public, may also make monetary donations.
