Former VP Files Suit Following Termination

LOMPOC, Calif.–Just a few months after its CEO alleged he had been terminated in part due to performance metrics that included weight loss goals, a former senior VP is alleging she was terminated illegally and has filed suit.

Lisa Nissinen-Harlow is suing CoastHills Credit Union claiming her termination was falsely based on the "pretext that she did not catch a cyber security issue that the chief information officer did not catch" and "there was excessive turnover in her department, which included the death of an employee, another employee's decision to take a job closer to home, and an employee's decision to change careers."

Nissinen-Harlow, who was senior vice president of human resources, was terminated by the $1.1-billion CoastHills not long after the credit union fired former CEO Jeff York in March.

As CUToday.info reported here,  York said he was terminated after he filed a complaint after a board member attempted to make his personal weight loss part of his 2018 performance goals.

In addition, York alleged in a statement that five other members of the senior management team and two board members have left the credit union over a two-week period due to “interference in the day-to-day operations” of CoastHills by four members of the board.
