BAY CITY, Mich.—Alysia M. Wright, a former head teller with Copoco Community CU here, has appeared in Bay County District Court here for her arraignment on one count of embezzlement of more than $50,000 but less than $100,000, a 15-year felony in Michigan.
Wright has been charged with embezzling more than $91,000 over a three-year period while at the credit union. The arraignment follows a confession in May, according to Mlive.com, which reported that Wright, 35, when confronted over a check in her till in the amount of $91,346.73, told CU officials, “I owe you guys a lot of money.” Wright will appear for a preliminary examination before Chief District Judge Timothy J. Kelly on Oct. 14.
