BOISE, Idaho–Kathy Thomson, the former president of the Idaho Credit Union League, has died. Ms. Thomson was 64.
Thomson retired from the ICUL in January of 2017 after 43 years with the league. She joined the league in 1973 and held a number of positions before being named president/CEO in 2014. During her tenure with the Idaho league she watched as the state’s CUs grew from $122 million in combined assets to more than $7.2 billion.
Thomson was active in numerous credit union-related activities, including the National Youth Involvement Program, Credit Unions for Kids and Credit Union House.
While at the league Thomson led a partnership with the Northwest Credit Union Association, with which the ICUL recently formally merged.
A celebration of life has been scheduled at the Ridge Crest Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho, on Feb. 17.
