BROOKLYN, N.Y.–A former senior-level employee at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has been found guilty of stealing the “living wills” of big banks as she sought an advantage in obtaining a job in the private sector.
Allison Aytes was found guilty by federal court of stealing confidential records related to three banks in August of 2015 while she was at FDIC. She later resigned from the FDIC in September of that same year; court records do not indicate whether she was successful in obtaining the position(s) sought.
Aytes later moved to Oklahoma, but law enforcement agents said they found papers and a thumb drive with the stolen information during an October 2015 search of her Brooklyn home, according to authorities.
Aytes, 41, faces up to 10 years in prison.
