Former Employee Gets 3 Years For Insider Role In Robbery

MILWAUKEE—Jessica Benson, 24, a former employee of Educators Credit Union, has been sentenced to three years in prison and another three years of extended supervision for robbery at the branch at which she worked.

The complaint against Benson said that Benson and her boyfriend recruited two other men, Kevin Blackburn and Ricardo Perkins, to participate in the robbery. Benson provided the men with inside information on ECU’s robbery procedures. Surveillance video showed the men gave a teller a note. Police said the note used terminology used internally by employees at the credit union.

Blackburn and Perkins were also convicted and sentenced in connection with the robbery. Blackburn was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and six years of extended supervision. Perkins was sentenced to four years in prison, and four years of extended supervision.
