WICHITA, Kans.—Bob Thurman, who guided the $1.6-billion Credit Union of America for 37 years as president/CEO, has died, the Wichita Business Journal reported.
Mr. Thurman was 72 years old. He died of complications due to pancreatitis, his son said.
"We all respected Bob," said Frank Shoffner, Thurman's successor as president and CEO, told the Journal. "He was in it to make sure we're doing everything for all the right reasons."
Mr. Thurman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen, and three grown children: Derek, Dusty and Brittany, and their families, the Wichita Business Journal said.
