Former CEO Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail

Michael Howard

GLEN FALLS, N.Y.–The former CEO of Parks Heritage FCU has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after being found guilty to stealing more than $8,000 from the credit union. He must also pay restitution of $8,070.

Michael D. Howard, 39, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny related to thefts from the credit union between 2010 and 2013. He was fired in December of 2013 after an audit uncovered the activity and police were contacted, according to PostStar.com.

Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced Howard to 30 days in the county jail to be followed by probation. Any violation of probation will lead to a longer term in state prison.

The Glen Falls Police said their investigation found Howard had been using credit union money to pay personal bills and altering records to conceal the theft, according to PostStar.com.
