GREEN BAY, Wis.–A former bookkeeper at Oshkosh Central Credit Union here is now facing charges related to approximately $1.6 million in cash that went missing from its vault.
Prosecutors here have indicted Melisa A. Beyer, 37, charging her with embezzlement and making a false statement, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Beyer was fired by the credit union in 2014 after discovery of the missing funds.
According to prosecutors, Beyer faces a combined sentence of up to 60 years in prison. She is next scheduled to appear in court on April 12.
