GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida Credit Union has broken ground on a new corporate office here.
The $2.1-billion Florida CU is set to build a 90,000-square-foot headquarters ono SW 41st St., across from the Gainesville Country Club. Gainesville. The new office will house administrative departments like HR, accounting, call centers, and more, the credit union said.
It has approximately 330 employees.
FCU was founded in Alachua County in 1954 and currently has 330 employees.
‘Dramatic Growth’
“Florida Credit Union has grown dramatically since the late 1990s,” said FCU CEO Mark Starr. During the groundbreaking. “We’re one of the largest credit unions in the country now. We rank about 235 out of 4,500 credit unions.”
The new office will be complete by mid-2025.
Florida Credit Union has more than 150,000 members.
