WASHINGTON–Five more states are holding primary elections today, with credit unions having taken an active position in just one of the races.
Primaries are being held in Maine, Virginia, South Carolina, North Dakota and Nevada.
According to Trey Hawkins, VP-political affairs with CUNA, the trade group and the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee, along with the Nevada Credit Union League, has been backing incumbent Rep. Mark Amodei (R).
Hawkins said credit unions have sponsored partisan communications that have sent mailers to 15,000 credit union households with Republican voters backing Amodei.
