WASHINGTON–To mark its 80 years of service, Democracy Federal Credit Union has created the Member Bill of Rights to declare their list of commitments and services to members to help them achieve financial freedom.
Democracy FCU said it “answered their members’ call for financial freedom just as America’s Founding Fathers answered the call for protection of individual liberties. Democracy FCU’s Member Bill of Rights was created to educate members that being financially free includes making good economic choices with the resources you have, amending your financial habits, and reflectively living.”
In announcing its Member Bill of Rights, Democracy FCU cited statistics that show 80% of Americans are in some form of debt, and that most Americans would prefer to be debt free.
Democracy FCU said its Member Bill of Rights empowers members to celebrate their independence from financial burdens and hardships through a variety of products and services.
The Democracy FCU’s Member Bill of Rights includes:
· Free certified financial counseling on money management, home buying and more.
· Loans for debt consolidation or solutions for vacations, weddings and other expenses.
· Convenient 24/7 mobile and online access to members’ complete financial portfolio.
· Affordable transportation, higher education, and home buying loans.
Democracy FCU is sharing its Bill of Rights through its website, social media, branch marketing, and also a television commercial airing on local WJLA News Channel 8 DC.
