Firstmark Celebrates 30 Years Of Giving To CUFK; Has Raised More Than $1 Million

SAN ANTONIO–Marking its 30th year of partnership, Firstmark Credit Union is reporting it has surpassed the $1-million threshold in giving to Credit Unions for Kids (CUFK).

The donations collected through Firstmark and CUFK’s partnership are given to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

“Supporting The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio has been a community focus of our credit union for many years,” said Nathanael Tarwasokono, president and chief executive officer of Firstmark Credit Union, in a statement. “Mr. Leon Ewing, our recently retired president and CEO of 31 years, should be commended for his career-long dedication to this worthy cause. His vision and leadership as one the founding partners of CUFK played a monumental role in this achievement that we celebrate together.”

Firstmark said it has raised money to directly impact CUFK’s charitable mission by encouraging employee and member donations, bowling events, hosting giveaways, selling Fiesta Medals and many other community initiatives. All monetary contributions collected through these efforts are then used to fund various needs of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, including life-saving research, cutting edge and innovative technology, and essential charity care required to treat children every year.

Firstmark’s goal in 2016 is to raise $50,000 in giving, which will continue to support the efforts of CUFK and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.
