WASHINGTON–With registration now open for CUNA’s 2021 GAC, it will mark not just the first time the meeting will be held virtually, but potentially the first time many credit unions will be able to meet with new faces in Congress.
“I want to emphasize how important it’s going to be for credit unions to have an advocacy impact early in 2021,” said CUNA’s chief advocacy officer, Ryan Donovan. “Regardless of the election’s outcome, it going to be important to credit unions to make their voices heard with dozens of new members in Congress, and with the administration, whether it’s second term of Donald Trump or a new administration of Joe Biden. We will be ready for whatever voters decide November 3rd. GAC will be one of the first opportunities we will have to have our voices heard with the new Congress and administration.”
According to Todd Spiczenski, CUNA chief products and services officer, the conference will be delivered on a full feature interactive platform called Social 27. Spiczenski said the platform will be used to deliver learning opportunities, the GAC trade show, its usual menu of keynoters, and “unparalleled networking opportunities.”
CUNA is hopeful the new virtual meeting will allow more credit unions to attend, especially those in the smaller asset category, as there is a lower price point and not travel costs involved.
CUNA is offering a discount on registrations of four or more from the same organization.
