SACRAMENTO, Calif.–First U.S. Community Credit Union has named a new president and CEO. The $541-million credit union has tapped Shonna Shearson to lead the organization.
Shearson, who has more than 23 years of experience in financial services, most recently served as senior vice president of operations with Valley Strong Credit Union.
Prior roles at Valley Strong included vice president of contact center and training and director of member service delivery. Shearson began her career at Valley Strong in 2000 as the training manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bethany College in Bethany, W.V., and graduated with honors from Western CUNA Management School. She also holds an SPHR and is currently attending the CUES CEO Institute.

“I am humbled and grateful to have been selected as the next president/CEO of First U.S.,” said Shearson. “This credit union is a fantastic institution, and I am excited to work with the board of directors and all staff to continue the growth and success of the credit union.”
First U.S. Community has more than 27,000 members.
