First-Ever Fintech CU Connection to Be Held by California, Nevada CUs in November

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–The first-ever Fintech Credit Union Connection is scheduled to be held Nov. 17 at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Sacramento.

“Be a part of this inaugural event in the state capital region, which will bring together California and Nevada credit union leaders and professionals, as well as local innovative fintechs to share ideas, showcase products, and make connections,” said the California and Nevada CU Leagues. “You’ll hear insights and learn how fintechs and credit unions are partnering to drive innovation and exceptional member experiences. You’ll also learn about innovative technologies that will drive enhanced member value and engagement, while simultaneously networking with fellow credit union leaders and leading-edge entrepreneurs.”

Organizers said fintech leaders will be able to meet and network with senior credit union executives and management from across California and Nevada, learn about the credit union world’s unique ecosystem, highlight their products and services to credit unions, and compete for the Tower Bridge Award — presented to the fintech that attendees select as the top-solutions provider.

The Speakers

According to the league, speakers will include:

  • Dave Roughton, CEO of SAFE CU and board chair of the California Credit Union League
  • Mark Crager, founder and managing partner of Next Stage Partners.
  • Doug Leighton, founding partner of Tahoma Advisors.
  • Cloey Hewlett, commissioner of the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI).
  • Barry Broome, president and CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council.

‘Forge Partnerships’

“This event will bring together leaders from the credit union and fintech industries to forge partnerships and spark innovation,” said Roughton. “I often hear how credit unions don’t always have the internal resources to create their own technical solutions. By working closely with fintechs, they can create customized technology that other credit unions can also benefit from. We can get the conversation started on how to take credit unions and fintechs to the next level in both California and Nevada.”
