NEW YORK–The Finest Federal Credit Union, founded in 2015 to serve New York City’s police officers, held a ceremony at its offices yesterday to rename its offices after Steven D. McDonald, a police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Among those on hand for the ceremony was Patti Ann McDonald, Mr. McDonald’s widow, and other NYPD dignitaries.
Detective McDonald was on hand on the steps of New York’s City Hall on May 13, 2015 when the credit union celebrated its grand opening. “Detective McDonald’s life and career transcended multiple layers of decency, piety, forgiveness and acceptance,” the credit union said.
The offices are now known as the “Seven D. McDonald Memorial Headquarters.”
