Fed To Host Town Halls To Discuss Faster Payments

WASHINGTON—The Federal Reserve will host public town hall meetings in its 12 districts in late October and early November to discuss its Faster Payments Settlement Assessment notice in the Federal Register.

The notice seeks public comment on potential actions to facilitate real-time interbank settlement of faster payments. Comments are due Dec. 14, noted CUNA, which said it continues to advocate for a secure faster payments system accessible to institutions of all sizes.

Registration for the events is now open. The town hall schedule is (all times local):

  • Oct. 29: Kansas City, 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Oct. 30, Philadelphia, noon to 3 p.m.
  • Oct. 31: Houston, 9 a.m. to noon
  • Oct. 31: Charlotte, N.C., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Nov. 2: New York, 9 a.m. to noon
  • Nov. 5: Los Angeles, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Nov. 7: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Nov. 9: Boston, noon to 3 p.m.
  • Nov. 9, Minneapolis, noon to 3 p.m.
  • Nov. 14: St. Louis, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Nov. 16: Cleveland, noon to 3 p.m.
  • Nov. 19: Atlanta, Ga., 1 to 4 p.m.
