FOM And Board Modernization The Focus With Congress In Recess

WASHINGTON—With Congress in recess this week, CUNA said it is focusing its Hill efforts on the trade association’s legislative priorities.

“We will be working behind the scenes on Capitol Hill, promoting legislative priorities—field of membership and the Credit Union Board Modernization Act,” said CUNA Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer Jason Stverak.

Stverak added CUNA will be monitoring discussions regarding the “next Build Back Better Act” to see if there may be anything that might impact credit unions.

NAFCU noted that When Senate and House lawmakers return next week, the House Financial Services Committee will convenetwo hearings: the “Consumers First: Semi-Annual Report of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau” on April 27, and “Oversight of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network” on April 28.
