FHFA Seeking Input On Plans For Underserved Markets

WASHINGTON—The Federal Housing Finance Agency is requesting input from the public on the underserved markets plans released by government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac under the Duty to Serve program.
The deadline for submitting comments is July 10.

The GSEs released proposed three-year plans for how they will serve specific underserved markets, including manufactured housing, affordable housing preservation and rural housing, to facilitate a secondary market for mortgages on housing for very low-, low-, and moderate-income families. NAFCU said that it plans to submit comments.
After receiving public input, the GSEs will update their plans and must receive approval from the FHFA before they become effective on Jan. 1, 2018.
