FHFA Releases Strategic Plans for GSEs Through 2026

WASHINGTON—The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has released its strategic plan for the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) covering fiscal years 2022-2026.

In the report, FHFA Acting Director Sandra Thompson said the plan "provides a concise and transparent roadmap" for the FHFA.

In its review, NAFCU noted three new goals identified in 2021-2024 strategic plan include:

  • Secure the regulated entities' safety and soundness
  • Foster housing finance markets that promote equitable access to affordable and sustainable housing
  • Responsibly steward FHFA's infrastructure

FHFA is requesting public comment on the plan; comments are due to the agency by March 11.
