WASHINGTON—The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) has released an updated guide to Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting – its first full update to the guide since 2013.
This 2018 edition reflects changes to Regulation C that went into effect Jan. 1 for those submissions due March 1, 2019.
The guide includes:
- An overview of data requirements
- The HMDA small-entity compliance guide
- Instructions on collection of data on ethnicity, race and sex
- Charts summarizing transactional and institutional coverage
- Regulation C and the official interpretation of Regulation C
The HMDA requirements that went into effect Jan. 1 affect home equity lines of credit, establish transactional thresholds for coverage and expand the number of HMDA data points collected from credit unions, NAFCU noted.
