SALT LAKE CITY — The FBI is looking for a man who has been robbing bank and credit union branches inside a number of well-known retailers in at least five cities along the Wasatch Front.
The suspect has been dubbed the “Band-Aid Bandit” on a FBI wanted poster because he has been observed wearing BAND-AIDS on his fingers. The first known robbery by this man took place Dec. 9, 2019 and the most recent was on Aug. 27, according to Fox13.
He is suspected in at least seven robberies in Salt Lake City, South Jordan, West Jordan, Lehi and Kaysville, Utah, according to the report.
In four of those robberies, he was seen driving away in a 2018 or 2019 white-silver Volkswagen Tiguan.
The Suspect
Police have described the suspect as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He changes his appearance and wears different hats during the robberies.
The most recent robbery took place just before 5 p.m. at a branch of America First Credit Union inside the Bowman’s Market n Kaysville. He presented a note threatening to have a weapon, police said.
That is the same modus operandi the man has used at seven robberies at branches of Cyprus Credit Union, multiple branches of US Bank, Goldenwest Credit Union and multiple branches of America First.
