OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla–FAA Credit Union said it is changing its name. The credit union will now be known as True Sky Credit Union.
CEO Steve Rasmussen told local media the new identity has been inspired by the organization's aviation roots and positions the community CU for continued growth throughout the Oklahoma City metro area.
“Our new name and look are the result of significant thought on who we are as an institution and where we want to be in the future,” said Rasmussen. “We are immensely proud of our history with the FAA and are grateful for the continued support of our many members who work there. In recent years, our membership has grown to include not just FAA employees, but also people from all walks of life.”
The credit union was established in 1946 to serve employees at the Civil Aeronautics Administration, later known as the Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA. The credit union expanded in 2001 to include members from the community.
Existing credit union members will see updated signage in branches and new logos on mailings as well as updated looks for their checks, debit and credit cards. True Sky also is launching an advertising campaign, which includes billboards, social media and television to introduce the identity to the community, it said in a statement.
