Ex-Manager Of Now Defunct CU Pleads Guilty

WASHINGTON, Penn.–A former manager of Trailblazer FCU has pleaded guilty to embezzling $478,000.

The crime contributed to the merger of the now-defunct CU. Catherine M. Linton, 58, pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney David Hickton.

Linton, who entered the plea before Senior U.S. District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose in Pittsburgh, was the former manager of Trailblazer FCU. According to prosecutors, the funds were embezzled between January 1998 and May 2015. In July of 2015, when TFCU was merged into Chrome FCU, it had $4.1 million in assets and 1,500 members.

Linton’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25. She remains free on bond.
