Empower FCU Buys Naming Rights to Amphitheater in Seven-Year Deal

SYRACUSE, N.Y.–Empower Federal Credit Union has bought the naming rights to an amphitheater here. The $4 million deal is for seven years, according to Syracuse.com.

The facility was previously known as the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview. It will now be known by a handful of other names. The Syracuse concert venue has been known as Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview (or “Empower FCU Amphitheater” for short), the report stated.

Empower Federal Credit Union Chief Marketing Officer Chris Keller told Syracuse.com the credit union will pay an average of $575,000 a year to put its name on the Amp through 2030.

St. Joseph’s Health, the Syracuse-based healthcare system, previously paid $750,000 to Onondaga County for a five-year naming rights deal that began in 2018, according to the report.

The 17,500-capacity amphitheater, located in Geddes on the edge of Onondaga Lake, opened in September 2015 as the “Lakeview Amphitheater” and maintained that name until the 2018 concert season, Syracuse.com stated.
