MUNCIE, Ind.—Employees of Ball State FCU reported that their hands became irritated after handling potentially contaminated cash. The staff work at the branch located inside the University’s student center.
Ball State University interim associate VP Joan Todd told WISH-TV that a potentially hazardous material was investigated after CU employees noticed irritation on their hands.
Todd said money was delivered to the credit union and the incident happened after the employees handled the cash, adding that the money was contained and removed.
The employees were checked by EMS but refused treatment.
A public safety notice was sent out by the university, and hours later a second notice giving the “all clear” was sent.
