Elevations CU, Foundation Raise More Than $1 Million for Fire Victims

LONGMONT, Colo.–The Elevations Foundation and Elevations Credit Union reporting they have raised more than $1 million for victims of the Marshall Fire in Colorado.

The Elevations Fire Relief Fund received donations from credit union members, business partners and the community, raising a total of $885,000. Elevations Foundation and Elevations Credit Union each matched about $100,000, which amounted to a total of $1,092,582, the organizations reported.

Although the fund has closed, the final amount is expected to be closer to $1.2 million due to additional fundraisers local businesses have scheduled, the credit union said.

‘Overwhelmed’ by Support

"We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support our members and community (members) have shown following this tragedy," said Gerry Agnes, president and CEO of Elevations Credit Union, in a statement. "In times of devastation it is critical that we come together to help our neighbors and provide hope to them in a seemingly hopeless time. It's what we do as a community credit union."

Elevations Credit Union and Elevations Foundation said they have partnered with the Boulder County Department of Housing and Human Services as a fiduciary partner for distribution of the funds, “ensuring 100% of the funds will be donated to support the victims of the Marshall Fire.”

Other Assistance Provided

Raising funds for fire victims isn’t the only good cause funded by the credit union last year. In April 2021, following the South Boulder King Soopers shooting, Elevations Foundation and Elevations Credit Union raised almost $750,000 for families of the victims, the organizations said.
