ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU announced that eight candidates have been nominated for the four open positions in this year's NAFCU board elections.
Three of the eight are incumbents.
The At-Large (three-year term, two positions) candidates are:
- Whitney Anderson, Elements Financial Federal Credit Union, Indianapolis
- Karen Harbin, incumbent, Commonwealth Credit Union, Frankfort, Ky.
- Eric Hepkins, Cornerstone Community FCU, Lockport, N.Y.
- Chad Merrihew, Leading Edge Credit Union, Worthington, Minn.
- Tricia Szurgot, Securityplus Federal Credit Union, Baltimore
- Brian Waldron, Dort Financial Credit Union, Grand Blanc, Mich.
The Southern Region (three-year term) candidate is:
- Melanie Kennedy, incumbent, Southwest Financial FCU, Farmers Branch, Texas
The Western Region (one-year term) candidate is:
- Stephanie Sherrodd, incumbent, Sandia Laboratory FCU, Albuquerque, N.M.
Nominations Remain Open
Additional candidates can be nominated by receiving five write-ins on the nominating ballot. Official voting ballots will be sent via email April 26.
The board election results will be announced at NAFCU's Annual Business Meeting, scheduled to be held June 27 during the association’s Engage 2023: Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif.
