PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J.— GoChipCard.com now has details about how consumers can use chip cards at an ATM.

GoChipCard.com was launched in April by the EMV Migration Forum and the Payments Security Task Force in support EMV migration in the U.S. As CUToday.info previously reported, GoChipCard.com is part of the CHIP IN Education Initiative that provides issuers, merchants, acquirers, networks and others with common educational messages and materials that can be shared through social media and other channels.

GoChipCard.com teaches consumers:

  • How to identify a chip card
  • How to use chip cards in stores with a simple, easy-to-remember three-step process

  • Why they already have or may soon receive a chip card for enhanced security

We want to help make every consumer's first impression of chip technology a positive one through GoChipCard.com, which provides all of the need-to-know information about what chip cards are, how to check for the chip and how to use a chip card both in-store and at the ATM," said Randy Vanderhoof, director of the EMV Migration Forum.

The pages include: simple explanations of chip technology; what chip technology means to merchants and issuers, as well as to their customers; chip card security features; and next steps to enable chip card acceptance in stores or at the ATM.
