Education Credit Union Names New CEO

Eric Jenkins

AMARILLO, Texas–Education Credit Union here has named a new CEO. The $268-million ECU said it has selected Eric Jenkins to lead the organization.

Jenkins is replacing Greg Bynum, who is retiring.

Jenkins was previously with Georgia United Credit Union, in Duluth, Ga., where he served as chief deposit services officer since 2014. Prior to Georgia United CU, he served on the executive teams of CU Partner Link for two years and Georgia Credit Union Affiliates for four years. He previously led Palmetto Health Credit Union for 10 years. 

“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to join the team at Education Credit Union and work with them to deliver our mission of excelling in service, care, and financial protection for our members and their families,” said Jenkins. “Education Credit Union has a strong brand presence in the greater Amarillo, Bushland, and Canyon community, and I look forward to continuing our commitment to improve the lives of our members and the communities we are privileged to serve.”

Acknowledging Bynum, who is retiring after 22 years, Board Chairperson Duane Chapman, said, “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Gregg for his leadership and friendship over the past 22 years. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
