LOS ANGELES–The Great Recession may have officially taken place from 2007-2009, but it’s not over for many Americans who remain unprepared for any future economic downturn.
GoBankingRates.com conducted a survey around Americans’ preparedness for tough times, and said it found “our data suggests many Americans are still struggling from the effects of the Great Recession.”
Its latest survey found:
- 49% of Americans are currently living paycheck to paycheck
- 61% do not have enough money saved to cover six months of living expenses
- 78% are not ready to search for a new job with an updated resume
- 64% do not have multiple streams of income
- 68% say their investment strategy does not account for a recession
