MADISON, S.D.–East River FCU has named a new CEO. The credit union has selected Tanya Hobson to lead the organization.
Hobson, who previously served as vice president of operations, will succeed Mechelle Johnson, who has led the credit union for the past 24 years.
East River FCU, which is currently seeking a new VP-operations to replace Hobson, has $31-million in assets and approximately 3,400 members.
According to the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas, Hobson has 20 years in financial services, 16 of which are specific to credit unions. Prior to joining East River FCU Hobson was the chief administrative officer for a credit union in Wyoming, and also held a leadership role at Sioux Empire FCU.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as East River FCU’s next president/CEO,” Hobson told the CUAD. “East River FCU has done an outstanding job over the years under Mechelle’s leadership and I look forward to leading an organization with a talented team that continues to be focused on building success stories with our membership and community partners.”
