PANAMA CITY, Fla.–Tyndall FCU has distributed a total of $2.7-million to members who were affected by Hurricane Michael to help them as they work to recover.
Individual members living in any FEMA declared disaster area were paid $50 each.
“…If you’ve been an active member with Tyndall in 2018, you may notice that we placed $50 in your savings account, labeled ‘Storm Aid from TFCU,’” the credit union said in a statement on its website. “We hope you will use this money to assist in your recovery efforts, to pay for food or gifts for your family this holiday season, or, if you wish, to donate to another person or organization in need.”
In a statement, Board Chair Mindy Ranking added, “We're giving back $2.7 million to our members. They don't have to do a thing. If you qualify you get $50 in your account and no strings attached. We just feel as being a not for profit here that we want to give back to our members because we want to make a meaningful difference in their lives and now is the time that they need our help.”
A member was considered active if they made at least one transaction at Tyndall FCU during 2018.
TFCU has set up a landing page with information for members, including a video from the CEO, here: https://tyndall.org/forwardtogether
