EPA Chief Lee Zeldin Moves to Reclaim Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Money

Lee Zeldin

WASHINGTON—Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has called for a pullback of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) money, saying the agency will terminate its contract with the bank overseeing the fund money and expects the money to be returned to the Department of the Treasury, America’s Credit Unions reported.

The EPA’s decision aligns with the administration’s broader efforts to freeze various funding efforts across federal agencies, ACU added.

America’s Credit Unions noted it has written in support of credit union inclusion in the GGRF to create more opportunities for credit unions to leverage capital for improvements to their members’ lives.
