VANCOUVER, B.C.–Attendees at the World Council of Credit Unions’ upcoming World CU Conference are being offered the opportunity to participate in helping clean up this city’s shoreline.
WOCCU said it is partnering with Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup in Vancouver to give back to the local community.
“Ocean Wise Shoreline Cleanup is a citizen science program, dedicated to the collection of shoreline litter and litter data,” WOCCU said. “Together they not only prevent the leak of plastic litter into our Ocean but more importantly collect valuable litter data that helps scientists, policy makers and businesses take meaningful action to prevent harmful plastic pollution.”
The cleanup is to take place from 3:30-6:00 p.m. on July 25. It is limited to 250 participants.
