NAPLES, Fla.–The Defense Credit Union Council said it was able to raise $26,815 for Southeastern Guide Dogs during its recent annual conference here.
The money was raised during the four days of the event and included an online silent auction and the raffle of a “patriotic blanket” handmade by Eileen Ehrsam, whom the DCUC described as a “long-time friend,” in addition to the popular 50/50 raffle and mulligan sales for the VADM Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament.
The Defense Council said the funds will be used to help support Southeastern Guide Dog’s mission of transforming lives by creating and nurturing extraordinary partnerships between people and dogs.
“Each day, the dogs they train and offer to those in need for zero cost, provide life-changing services to people with vision loss, disabilities, veterans suffering from PTSD and many more,” the DCUC said. “Southeastern Guide Dogs is a remarkable organization, and one that DCUC is honored to support.”
