MADISON, Wis.–More than a dozen credit unions are among the more than 70 employers in Wisconsin participating in a program that encourages employees to save automatically for emergencies.
According to Wisconsin saves, more than 7,500 employees work for companies offering split deposits to their employees. The Wisconsin CU League is participating as an employer.
“Recognizing many individuals were not fully prepared for the lasting economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, these employers have joined a new statewide effort to help more Wisconsin workers save automatically and successfully through their paycheck,” states Wisconsin Saves, which focuses on the role of small to mid-size employers in promoting the ease and benefits of saving automatically for emergencies to their employees.
The effort is being led by Wisconsin State Treasurer
Sarah Godlewski, the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, the Wisconsin Bankers Association, Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp., and America Saves.
